Do you ever have the moment where you are deep into a situation and you stop and ask yourself…why did I stop doing that in the first place. I share a few things I’m struggling with at the moment, and share what I’m doing to get back on track. Day 5 of 28.
Here are the highlights of this episode:
Track yo money. I did awesome at this in 2017. Very detailed. 2018 I did ok but I wasn’t as anal retentive. I literally had to figure out why I took in some cash, and what a $740 fee to a friend was. I realized it was a co-payment for a project but it took me an hour and a half to realized what it was, and track down the receipt. I’ll be hard core going forward. This is not a habit to fail at.
Maintaining a schedule is harder than it looks.
Tip #1: Track how many hours you are really spending on projects to help gauge if that makes sense before taking anything else on.
Tip #2: Time blocking is not always the best way to handle your schedule. Find what works to get the things done.
Tip #3: Set working hours and stick to them.
You can’t take care of others, if you can’t take care of yourself. Figure out what habits you’ve picked up and would like to make adjustments too. Realize that this change can come in phases, not all at once.
Be an advocate for your processes, and make sure you don’t lose your voice. Balance out the flexibility of learning from others, and integrating their processes, while helping them improve. There’s always something to learn from others, but know that you bring value as well, and work with people that respect your perspective and opinions for good collaborative relationships.
